BUY MELANIN SOUL BASEL 2019 MIAMI

Miami is smack in the middle of Art Basel, so of course I left early just in case of crazy traffic. Upon arrival to Buy Melanin, there was an hour and 20 min to spare. Teresa a really good friend of mine who came along to assist me, suggested the restaurant " Jackson Soul Food Resturant". It had a an old school feel with some colorful waitresses with big smiles. I ordered the fried yellow tail with home fries. Guys it was sooooooooooo good.  During our visit another friend/ vendor  called me and said "Girl get over here and find parking its filling up quick". We rushed over and was lucky enough to find a good parking space close  to the outside portion of the venue.   After  conversing with a few staff members, I found my spot.  Unfortunately,  where I was placed was behind another jewelry vendor. I was not happy about that. Its nothing personal, just business but of course I was going to do the darn thing. Not only was I placed in the back but Kdez Closet was the only vendor on the back row. I definitely brought this issue to a staff member and she figured out a quick fix  or shall we say compromise that worked for me.

Kdez Closet did great, it was a very productive day overall.  The staff of the Overtown Performing arts center was great, friendly and helpful. They genuinely cared for the vendors.

The Cons of the event was that several consumers shared with the vendors  that they had no idea there was another area outside. That was very frustrating for the vendors and a bit disheartening. This information  was also brought to a staff member and an announcement was made on the inside speaker.

Upon communicating with my fellow vendors a lot of them including myself did expect a lot more foot traffic.  Make no mistake about it, we made the best of out of the circumstances.   I would like to give a very special shout out and huge thank you to Teresa Strong for making the sacrifice to come out and help me. What an excellent sales person she is and No you can't borrower her. she's all mine ! love you to pieces. Here are  a few photos :

HEELS AND COCKTAILS PRESENTED BY SHOE FEATURE AND HOSTED BY AMARA LA NEGRA

Kdez Closet had a chance to be apart of an awesome day party concept presented by Shoe Feature and hosted by the musical sensation Amara La Negra.  I am proud to say it was very productive, fun and informative. I met some lovely business owners. The owner of Shoe Feature, Sasha was wonderful, pleasant and fun to be around.  She made sure all the vendors needs were met no matter how small. Brilliant concept and I am looking forward to doing so much more fashion pop up shops.

The customers were nothing short of wonderful and the food at the Reign Bar was great. If you happen to go there you have to try the Sriracha honey wings! I didn't even want to share #triplefacts.

Amara was a ball of energy and very down to earth. She was kind enough to share some things about her experiences vending as well. She knows the hustle.  Check out a few photos of the event.

KDEZ CLOSET @DELTA HOUSE 11/30/19

The Delta house event was so much fun. The ladies were full of smiles and a willingness to assist in all the vendor needs. One of the reasons I really enjoyed this event was just the positive energy in the room and the sisterhood. You can't buy that type of support.  This event was geared towards supporting black businesses 1000%. I hope to be apart of it again next year. I have to take the time to shout out Rochelle she made everyone feel so welcome.
